Benjamin Wheelwright


A graduate of The National Theatre School of Canada. Benjamin began performing at an early age at Edmonton's Citadel Theatre.

After graduation he moved to Toronto and performed at the SummerWorks festival receiving the emerging artist award. Shortly after, his life moved moved to New York City to play Christopher Boone in The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time on Broadway, which led him to perform in the show's U.S. National Tour.

In 2018, Benjamin moved back to New York to be in the original Broadway company of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, playing James Potter and Cedric Diggory. After a year on the stage, he transitioned to an associate movement director for the North American companies, alongside choreographer Steven Hoggett. During Broadway’s shut down he traveled to Tokyo to assist cast Cursed Child, and when Broadway resumed in 2022, Ben was apart of the two-part to one-part conversion, and staged this adaptation the company in San Fransisco, on home soil in Toronto, and New York.

Most recent credits include: Good Vibrations at the Irish Arts Center - a co-production with Belfast’s Lyric theatre.

During the pandemic, Ben started his photography business, PortraitsB’NK, which he currently runs with his wife Karma Jenkins in Harlem.
